Installing the Plattsburgh Course Web Wizard
The Plattsburgh Course Web Wizard is a Windows program that works with FrontPage 2000 to set up a quick framework for a web-based course.
This page provides instructions for downloading and installing the current version (2.1) of the Plattsburgh Course Web Wizard. (If you already have a previous version of the Course Web Wizard installed, you should remove it before installing this version--to remove the old version, click Start|Settings|Control Panel, then select Add/Remove Programs, and find the listing for Plattsburgh Course Web Wizard. If it reads as Plattsburgh Course Web Wizard (v 2.1 ), you have the most recent version. If it shows no version information or a lower version number, select the entry and click the Change/Remove button. Once the older version has been removed, the newer version can be installed.)
Begin by printing this page of instructions--you may want to refer to it as the installation begins.
The installation steps differ slightly depending upon which web browser you are using, but regardless of your web browser, your first step should be to initiate the setup by clicking on the Set Up Course Web Wizard link below. (When prompted for your password, enter your FrontPage username and password for the faculty web server.)
Once you've done so, follow the instructions appropriate to the web browser you are using to view this page.
Instructions for Netscape Users
If you are using Netscape, a Save As... dialog will appear, and you will be asked to specify where the Setup.EXE file is to be stored. If you've got a temporary folder for downloads on your system, you can save it there, but where you save the file is less important than that you save it somewhere where you'll be able to find it.
Once you've finished this step, you should close Netscape, open Windows Explorer , find the newly-saved Setup.EXE file on your hard drive, and double-click on it to run the setup program.
At this point, you can follow the instructions listed under Running the Setup Program (below).
