Instructional Technology Upgrade Grants

The Teaching and Technology I.T. Upgrade Grants provide up to $250 towards the upgrade or replacement of hardware or software purchased through a previous teaching and technology grant at Plattsburgh State University.

The I.T. Upgrade Grants are specifically designed to provide previous grant holders with a vehicle for keeping their Teaching and Technology grant-funded hardware and software up-to-date.

The application form for the I.T. Upgrade Grants appears at the bottom of this page. The grants are competitive, and applicants should take special care to ensure that their submissions include a cover letter indicating how they have used their grant-funded hardware and software in the past and why the requested upgrade(s) are now required.

No faculty member may submit more than one application in a 12-month period, but applications will be accepted throughout the academic year until available I.T. Upgrade Grants funds are exhausted.

The I.T. Upgrade Grants are designed to address hardware and software installations on individual faculty desktops: applications for laboratory or classroom installations of software cannot be made under this program.

The award of an I.T. Upgrade Grant should not be taken to imply that support for the software or hardware will be available, and no guarantees can be made to ensure that the requested software will run as desired on the applicant's system. Careful attention should be paid to minimum system requirements before a request is made. Any opened software that cannot be installed on the applicant's system will be added to the pool of software resources in the ITRC.

How to apply:

Complete the attached application form and submit it to Peter Friesen, Instructional Technology Coordinator, Feinberg Library, Room 317. Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2009 or until resources are exhausted.
