2017 Campus Climate Survey

On April 2, 2017 our campus conducted the Campus Climate Survey. The Survey was administered to students, faculty and staff.

By SUNY policy this uniform survey ascertains faculty and staff awareness of policies and resources, and student experience with and knowledge of reporting and college adjudicatory processes for sexual harassment, including sexual violence and other related crimes.

Faculty/Staff Results

  • Response rates for this round of the Campus Climate Survey were very low with a response rate of 9.3%. Of those who responded, 61% were Staff/Administration and 39% were faculty.
  • Results indicated that faculty and staff are generally aware of the policies and laws, and resources – 96% of those who responded.
  • There is an indication that more information, outreach and follow-up is needed to provide up-to-date information to faculty and staff, most specifically in relation to the difference between confidentiality & privacy and SUNY Plattsburgh Policy for Alcohol and Drug Amnesty.
  • Of the 122 who responded 92% knew of the Title IX Coordinator’s role on campus.
