Prospective Transfer Students Offered Several Options to Connect with Campus

This spring, prospective transfer students can connect with SUNY Plattsburgh through a campus visit, online presentation, one-on-one meeting with an admissions adviser or at Spring Open House.

SUNY Plattsburgh partners with several community colleges to ensure a seamless transfer process for students. These include Clinton Community College, Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Herkimer Community College, Hudson Valley Community College, Onondaga Community College, SUNY Adirondack, SUNY Canton and SUNY Morrisville.

‘Seamless Transfer Process’

Zoe Tyler ‘18, a graphic design major, said admissions advisers worked to guide her through the transfer application process to ensure an easy transition.

“Having transferred once before, I was relieved how seamless the transfer process to SUNY Plattsburgh was,” she said. “Not only was it very clear what documentation was needed, the Admissions Office was very accessible to answer my questions in a clear and quick manner.”

“When I decided to transfer schools, it was because I discovered that for me a community feel was necessary in and outside the classroom. I wanted my professors to know me as an individual and my peers to be excitedly engrossed in the community that surrounds them.”

Transfer Information Sessions

On-campus transfer information sessions provide an overview of academics and student life, the transfer admissions process, information about transferring credits and the Plattsburgh region. The sessions include a campus tour and students can also speak with a transfer adviser during the event. Transfer sessions begin at 1:15 p.m. and end around 3:30 p.m.

Online Admissions Presentations

Students can learn about academic and student life, the Plattsburgh region, the transfer admissions process and more in one of three online admissions presentations. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions of current students who transferred to Plattsburgh in a live Q&A session. All sessions begin at 3 p.m.

Individual Appointments

Prospective students can also schedule a one-on-one appointment with an admissions adviser online or by phone by calling toll-free (888) 673-0012.
