My Training Will Allow Me to Pursue a Career in Philanthropy

"My current focus is to expand and develop my professional horizon in order to gain worthwhile experience in the many pipelines of business. My interest in the non-profit sector will allow me to utilize and enhance my business skills in a philanthropic environment. I intend to pursue a joint M.B.A./M.A. program at George Washington University with further plans of obtaining a Ph.D. in Strategic Management.

My interest is Strategic Management is due in part to the required course of the SBE (School of Business and Economics), which was facilitated by my advisor Dr. Helen Deresky. This course, as well as many others, provided a realistic avenue to employ the theoretical business concepts.

SBE's Programs and Clubs Offered the Chance to Investigate Many Career Choices

The School of Business and Economics strives to provide its students with an array of degree and career choices in a dynamic business world and my personal involvement with the Student Advisory Council portrayed the students' contribution in the process. The SBE also afforded me the opportunity to meet and socialize with Mr. Merriam, who took genuine interest in my studies and career interests.

Dr. Kevin O'Neill has been very helpful and I very appreciative of the general assistance I received from the School. I also had the opportunity to meet with President Ettling who, with his sincerity, has already made his way to the hearts of many students such as myself. The SBE, and Plattsburgh State by extension, has helped shaped a climatic professional period in my life, giving me the essential theoretical and practical tools to take on the world and succeed."
