The interdepartmental minor in film studies brings together a wide range of courses that explore both film aesthetics and film and cultures. Film studies is an essential component of a humanities education, by which students gain critical fluency in thinking and writing about 1) the history of the moving image, 2) film’s global reach as a massively popular cultural form, and 3) film’s interdisciplinary connections.
