Expedition Photo Gallery
From kayaking in Scotland and Wales to climbing at Joshua Tree, California, from international departmental travel opportunities to required expeditions, EXP students and faculty explore locations around the world.
Rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering classes take EXP students all over the U.S. and the world. In addition to climbing in the Adirondacks, you’ll find pictures here of EXP students in California, The North Cascades, Nevada, Mexico, and Africa.
From tide races to flat water, ocean travel to whitewater, and from lakes to streams, EXP paddlers are testing the waters. EXP paddling classes have traveled to Mexico and the Canadian Maritimes, Scotland and Wales, as well as up and down the Atlantic coast, to Puget Sound, and to local lakes and rivers.
AT, telemark, and snowboard are all part of the EXP snow curriculum. Whether touring, or climbing on skins to descend a backcountry route, or assessing avalanche conditions, EXP skiers and boarders dream about deep snow…and go after it in EXP classes.
EXP students travel the world in both required and elective classes, as well as on their own Senior Expeditions, the required capstone course in the undergraduate program. Classes have trekked in Nepal, climbed in Mexico and Africa, and paddled in Scotland and Wales. International Senior Expeditions have been to Mexico, Thailand, Cambodia ,Spain, Canada, and Argentina.
