Student Interns receive college credit for working with companies and governmental agencies working in areas related to Geology.
These can be either paid positions or done on a volunteer basis. Real-world job skills are learned, and students gain valuable experience in their field of interest.
Often, valuable contacts are made which help students get jobs once they graduate.
Geology students have recently interned at the following companies and state agencies:
- US Geological Survey
- US Bureau of Land Management
- National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
- New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation, Raybrook, New York
