Hudson Valley Community College Partnership and Transfer Pathways


SUNY Plattsburgh and Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) have a long-standing partnership, and are jointly committed to making your transfer process streamlined and straightforward. We have articulation agreements and advisement guides designed to allow you to seamlessly transfer credit.

SUNY Plattsburgh offers 60+ bachelor’s degree programs, including two online bachelor’s degree completion programs in accounting and nursing, at our main campus. We also offer a bachelor’s degree completion program in  Criminal Justice at Hudson Valley Community College and four bachelor’s degree completion programs at our SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus at Queensbury.


Instant Decision Days at Hudson Valley Community College

A SUNY Plattsburgh admissions advisor will be at Hudson Valley Community College - Oct. 11 & Nov. 28  from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to individually discuss any questions you have about academic programs, admissions requirements, or the application process. The Instant Decision Day is designed to give students who may be looking to transfer for the spring/fall 2018 semester a decision on the spot!

SUNY Adirondack Branch Campus

Students interested in going on to a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Hudson Valley Community College have the opportunity to complete their degree through our SUNY Plattsburgh Extension Site at Hudson Valley.  Courses are offered by the faculty and staff at SUNY Plattsburgh Branch at Queensbury, located on the SUNY Adirondack Campus. Additionally, students interested in completing degrees in Business Administration, Psychology, and R.N. to B.S. in Nursing can do so through the Branch Campus in Queensbury.

Articulation Agreements

Articulation agreements ensure you are on the most efficient pathway to obtain your associate’s degree from HVCC and your bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh. These agreements ensure that credit from a specified associate’s degree program will seamlessly transfer into a specified bachelor’s degree program. This will allow you to complete both degrees in four years of full-time study.
