SUNY Plattsburgh Extension Site at Hudson Valley Community College
About Our Hudson Valley Extension Site
In Spring 2010, SUNY Plattsburgh entered into an agreement with Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) to offer a bachelor’s degree completion program in Criminal Justice at HVCC. The program allows graduate of Hudson Valley’s Criminal Justice program to earn their bachelor’s degree over the course of four semesters right on the campus of HVCC.
The Criminal Justice program is designed to serve the needs of working adults, non-traditional, and place-bound students in the Capital Region who may not have access to a high quality but affordable bachelor’s program in the area. On-site courses are offered primarily in the evenings, typically in a once a week format. Students also take online courses and are required to take CRI450 - Ethics in Criminal Justice (3 cr.) at SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury.
The Extension Site is administered by faculty and staff at SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury, located on the campus of SUNY Adirondack approximately 53 miles north of Albany and a one-hour drive. The Queensbury Campus acts as the home campus for the extension site. Faculty and staff from the Queensbury Campus regularly visit HVCC to teach classes, meet with students, and perform administrative functions. Learn more about our Queensbury Campus.
