#PlattsGive Campaign Exceeds Giving Tuesday Goal
04:35pm EST, 29 Nov 2017
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Nov. 29, 2017) — SUNY Plattsburgh has raised more than $12,000 in charitable gifts to the Plattsburgh College Foundation as a result of the #PlattsGive campaign on Giving Tuesday Nov. 28.
More than 225 donors participated this year, topping the goal of 200. It’s the second year in a row that the college has exceeded its #PlattsGive target.
The #PlattsGive campaign shared personal stories of student success to inspire members of the college community to make one gift on one day. Campaign gifts that weren’t designated to a particular division of the college will support scholarships, internships, career support, and hands-on learning experiences at SUNY Plattsburgh.
“PlattsGive is all about participation, and each and every gift truly makes a difference on our campus,” said Paula Bachman, associate director of annual giving.
SUNY Plattsburgh students also helped raise awareness in the month leading up to Giving Tuesday by handing out campaign materials, making social media posts, and producing radio and television promos for campus news stations.
“We are so grateful to all of our students and donors for their generosity, support and willingness to take part in this important initiative,” Bachman said. “It’s touching to know that our community members hold SUNY Plattsburgh in such high regard and want the best for our students.”
Though the #PlattsGive campaign has officially ended, there’s still time to make a tax-deductible gift to the Plattsburgh College Foundation before the year’s end. Donations may be made to the foundation’s general fund or designated for a specific department, program, or scholarship. For more information, visit Plattsburgh.edu/makeagift.
