Dr. Timothy Mihuc Wins Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activity
Dr. Timothy Mihuc, Associate Professor of Environmental Science, has recently been awarded the Chancellor’s award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activity. Dr. Mihuc has been a faculty member in the center since 1999 and has been the director of the Lake Champlain Research Institute throughout that period. He has published numerous articles on ecosystem integrity and river and stream invertebrates during that period in national and international peer-reviewed journals. The LCRI actively supports undergraduate research across and beyond the SUNY Plattsburgh campus and Dr. Mihuc’s efforts have been noteworthy in meeting those goals. SUNY Plattsburgh President John Ettling had the following comments about the award: “Dr. Muhuc, as coordinator of the Lake Champlain Research Institute, has led the institute as it has become a dynamic major research player within the Adirondack-Champlain Basin.” Dr. Mihuc joins five other faculty in the Center who have won Chancellor’s awards in scholarship, service or teaching.
