EDU335 - Teaching Methods II: Connecting Pedagogy in Reading and Writing, Content Areas, and Special Ed (7 cr.)

Teacher candidates will deepen their understandings of pedagogy, methods, best practices and integrated literacy and how to assess students' learning in social studies, science, math, creative arts, and English language arts. An integrated planning model will be introduced and used in writing lessons, developing units, and creating projects across curricular areas including the arts. Candidates will engage in a variety of professional writing experiences (e.g., planning and organization, reflection, describing and analyzing student learning, narrative writing, critique of current practices - content standards, instructional practices, and instructional design). (Minimum of 25 hours of field experience.) (Fall/Spring). Prerequisites: EDU325; major in Childhood Education BS or Combined BS/MSEd.
