Gospel Choir Performance

The Gospel Choir, one of the largest groups on campus, will be performing a selection of energetic and inspiring tunes.

African Unity Presents: Ubunye 2nd Annual Banquet “Tales of the Motherland”

African Unity presents their annual banquet.  Enjoy food and entertainment with one of our most active clubs on campus!  Tickets available through (under Clubs & Organizations).

Pancake Breakfast

The Inter Sorority Association invites you to their FREE Pancake Breakfast. Donations for St. Jude Children’s Hospital are welcomed!

3-Mile Fun Run and Walk

The Center for Student Health & Psychological Services is sponsoring a fun run/walk with the emphasis on FUN! Prizes will be awarded to winners in running and walking categories. Signup begins at 9 AM in the lobby of the Student Health Center.

Free Flu Shots

Parents, make sure your student gets their flu shot this year!  To encourage this, the Student Health Center will be offering FREE flu shots for students.  So, before heading out for the day, bring them over and help your student stay healthy this year. Sorry, but these are only for SUNY Plattsburgh students.

After dinner, kick off your evening with an amazing dueling pianos performance presented by 176 Keys. Dueling pianos are a unique form of entertainment – music, comedy, and audience interaction mixed into one. You are sure to have a great time at this high-energy show! Enjoy complimentary dessert.

Sunday, Sept. 24

Presidents’ Lakeside Breakfast Buffet

Before heading home, join us for a delicious breakfast buffet on the scenic shores of Lake Champlain, overlooking historic Valcour Island, site of the first major naval engagement of the American Revolution. Breakfast will be hosted by College President John Ettling and Student Association President Vrinda Kumar, with special musical accompaniment from several talented students. Advance reservations required – space is limited!

For families who want to explore the area and build your own itinerary, here are some ideas of things to do in Plattsburgh:

Adventure Seekers

For those who enjoy a little adventure, here are a couple of suggestions.

  • Rent a kayak or canoe and check out Lake Champlain, the AuSable River, or one of many smaller lakes and ponds in the area.
  • Bring a picnic lunch and walk the trails along Lake Champlain at Point au Roche State Park.
  • Hike a mountain.

For History Lovers

The Plattsburgh area is filled with historical monuments and museums. Some places to check out include:

Lake Placid/Olympic Venues

  • Lake Placid is only about an hour from campus and is a fun day trip.
  • The main street along Mirror Lake features shopping and restaurants. More information can be found at
  • Winter Olympic venues from 1932 and 1980 can be found in the main part of town and around the outskirts. Take a gondola ride up Whiteface Mountain, visit the ski jumps, or pose for pictures with your family on the Olympic podium. More information can be found at

Plattsburgh Farmers’ Market - The Plattsburgh Farmers' and Crafters' Market was established in June, 2005 and highlights local food producers and crafts. The market is located on Durkee Street in downtown Plattsburgh. Hours of operation are 9-2 on Saturdays. For more information, check them out at:
