American Red Cross Programs at SUNY Plattsburgh

The Department of Sport & Wellness offers a variety of American Red Cross programs.

The non-credit CPR/AED and First Aid program is partially funded by the Student Association and is only open to SUNY Plattsburgh students, faculty and staff. This program provides for Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED and First Aid training and opportunities to renew certifications in Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED or Professional Rescuers for campus participants who need certification for their clinical requirements, employment or personal needs.

The Youth Learn to Swim and Waterfront Lifeguard Training programs are open to the college community and the general public. The Learn to Swim nine-week program is structured to improve the swimming skill of children. The Waterfront Lifeguard training program is a 40-hour course that upon successful completion will certify the participant in Waterfront Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers that will qualify the participant to seek employment at either a pool or a beach site.

The CPR/First Aid/AED instructor course is open only to SUNY Plattsburgh students. The 20-hour non-credit course is offered each fall and spring to students who will work for the CPR program at SUNY Plattsburgh. CPR/AED Instructor course information
