• You Matter Celebration

  Each year the Title IX office takes time to acknowledge the people in the community, on and off campus, whose work brings us closer to a world of non-violence.

• Sexual Assault Awareness Month

  April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Each year the Title IX office creates programs and events in congruence with the yearly theme of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 

  Events include:

  • Denim Day
  • Wear Teal Day
  • Film Screening
  • Take Back the Night (collaboration with student organization)
• Community Outreach 

  Our community outreach events are a collective effort to dismantle violence. We applaud the individuals and groups that have contributed to creating long-lasting change.

  • Change for Plattsburgh
  • 10 Days of Action
  • Know Your Resources Panel
  • Community Collaboration Workshops
• Domestic Violence Awareness Month

  October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Each year the Title IX office creates programs and events dedicated to knowing the signs of abuse, how to help and disrupts misconceptions of those who experience violence.

  Events include:

  • Wear Purple Day
  • Last to Say
  • Hall-o-Talent Show
  • Candlelight Vigils
• LGBTQ+ Resource Committee Events

  The LGBTQ+ Resource Committee focuses on bringing LGBTQ+ to the forefront of discussions, to advocate for inclusion and belonging of the community, whether out publicly or not. The following events are organized by the community to raise awareness, advocate and have fun.

  • Pride Parade
  • LGBTQ+ Prom
  • Coming Out Day
  • International Pronouns Day
  • LGBTQ+ Community Recognition Ceremony
• Consent Week Events

  In February, conversations tend to be all about love through candy, gifts and hugs. The Title IX office’s Consent Week strives to expand these conversations to include healthy communication, boundaries, respect and self-love.
