Pregnancy, Parenting & Related Conditions
SUNY Plattsburgh is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for pregnant and parenting students, faculty and staff. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities, including academic, educational, extracurricular, athletic and other programs or activities at the university. This prohibition includes discrimination against pregnancy, parenting or related conditions.
Accommodations for Pregnancy, Parenting or Related Conditions
Pregnant and parenting students may request reasonable accommodations, when necessary, because of pregnancy or parenting status, which depend upon the student’s individual needs and circumstances. Pregnant and parenting students will not be excluded from any class, activity, or program at the university on the basis of sex, pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy or recovery therefrom.
